4 years without a period

I stopped having periods 4 years ago, but am having a period now! My breasts had been extremely sore for about a week and then I get a period. Is this normal? It is troubling for me and I am 57 years old.

No Period 1 and 1/2 years. Then I started again
by: Donna

I am a 55 year old woman who had her last period 1-1/2 years ago. My Dr. confirmed six months ago that I am Post-Menopausal.

Then, today, I started my period. For the past 2 weeks I've had many of the symptoms: breast swelling and tenderness, bloating, frequent urination, irritability. Is this something that's normal?
