Baby's conception date?

by Baby

I just found out I am pregnant. My menstrual cycle ended 4 weeks ago today. Could I have become pregnant the day my cycle ended?

My period was from Sept 28 to Oct 2nd. I had sex on the 2nd and the next time was the 13th. Today is the 29th so is it more likely to conceive on the 2nd or the 13th and how soon would it show on the test? I took the test today and it was positive.

I can tell you the exact date I conceived my son I will never forget it. I had finished my period the day before. So to me the answer is yes it is possible to get pregnant right after your period.

It was probably on the 13th

Most women don't really know the exact day of conception. However we do know that ovulation and conception "usually" happen approximately 14 days before the day you would normally have your period. And that it is harder to get pregnant the day after your period.

So it probably happened on the 13th, since that is right about 14 days from your period. And it probably did not happen on the 2nd, because women are not usually ovulating the day after their menstruation. That's why some people try to use the rhythm method for birth control, and why others who are trying to conceive are timing it to make love 14 days before AF.

One other interesting factoid for anyone who might be interested in establishing date of conception and such... if someone had two boyfriends then the only real way to know which one caused the pregnancy would be to use a DNA paternity test, which women can buy online and do through the mail anonymously these days.
