The Benefits of
Recumbent Exercise Bikes

While upright exercise bikes are good for many people, there are different benefits of recumbent exercise bikes to consider.

Recumbent bikes are those on which you recline and lean back in a comfortable seat.

Perhaps the best benefit of all is that you take the pressure off of your knees.

This is an advantage if you are one of the millions of people who may experience knee joint pain.

One of the reasons people buy exercise bikes is because their knees and ankles may not be able to take the pounding from jogging and running.

People want to get a good cardio workout without the impact of having their feet "pounding the pavement" so to speak.

If this is the case, you would want the exercise bike that puts the least strain on your knees and ankles. Recumbent exercise bikes take nore of the gravity and weight off of your legs than upright exercise bikes do.

Another selling point of recumbent exercise bikes is that you don't experience being "saddle sore" from sitting on the typical bike seat.

It is true that you get used to this "pain in the rear" from bike seats, but if you can avoid it altogether that is an added benefit.

In addition, some users say the comfort level is greater and they find that they are able to exercise for longer periods of time.

Exercise equipment will not do you any good unless you use it regularly. If you find that upright exercise are not comfortable for your particular body needs, why not take some recumbant exercise bikes for a spin?

Some people think these bikes are kind of weird. However they just take some getting used to. Most users adjust to them quickly.

Once you experience the many benefits of recumbent exercise bikes you may never go back to upright exercise bikes.
