False negative pregnancy test?

A month ago I went to the ER because I thought I was having a miscarriage when I lost a flesh colored piece of tissue during my period. It turned out to be decidua. I tried a urine pregnancy test but it was negative. Since then I took one more test (although it was a dollar store brand), and it was also negative.

But I have weird symptoms. I am very hot all the time (unusual for me, I'm usually cold). I feel bloated even though my weight is about the same. I wake up feeling sick in the morning, I almost passed out at work, I have mild heartburn (also unusual), and constipation, and I am urinating much more frequently than normal.

Is it all in my head? Was it maybe too early to test so I got false negative pregnancy tests? Or could it be symptoms of something else? I currently don't have health insurance and want to know the chances I might be pregnant before spending so much money on a doctor.

Well I have the same problem as she did. Two months ago my period lasted only 4 days. Last month it lasted only 2 days. My regular cycle usually lasts 5 days. Most of all I have bad headaches and lower back pains.

Did you get your period this month? Do you just "feel warm" or are you actually running a higher temperature? Take your temp and if you have an actual fever you'll want to go see a doctor.

With all of those symptoms I can see why you keep trying several pregnancy tests, I would too. Those discount store tests are not bad but check the expiration date on the package.

The best test is the blood test done at a doctor's office or pregnancy clinic. That test costs around $40 in my area. You can call around your city and ask about prices. The blood test looks for hCG hormone, just like the urine test, but it is more accurate. Call around and ask the price of a pregnancy blood test, or sometimes they call it a Beta Sub Unit, or a Qualitative, or a Serum or a hCG blood test.

It may be worth it to put your mind at ease. If you don't have insurance and can't afford to spend much money you can call Planned Parenthood and they often have low cost or free pregnancy tests available, or can tell you about the low cost clinics that are in your area.
