The next time you wonder about possible "home remedies for yeast infections," think "yogurt."

Yes yogurt. Use a natural, unpasturized, plain variety.

Serious yeast infections should be cause to visit your doctor, of course.

However a variety of non-medical home remedies are known to help somewhat for an ordinary yeast infection.

One of these home remedies for yeast infections is plain old yogurt. No kidding.

The unpasturized, plain yogurt is applied the same way as an over the counter cream, and then covered with a pad over night. This is done for several nights in a row. It is a little known home remedies yeast infection.

In addition, some women use a douche once per day made from 1 tablespoon of vinegar in a quart of purified water. Natural vinegar from a health food store is better than the weird artificial kind made in a laboratory and sold at the grocery store.

Some women then externally apply Vitamin E oil from a 400 IU's softgel.

To balance the body's beneficial bacteria, women can take Acidophilus supplements. We are impressed with the Primal Defense™ brand, a natural whole food probiotic blend.

Other tips include: Drink plenty of water. Drink cranberry juice. Wear undergarments with a cotton crotch and avoid synthetics.

Ingesting herbs such as Dong Quai may help balance the system to avoid future problems.

There are also many over-the-counter treatments such as Monistat or Gyne-Lotrimin. These are applied in the same fashion as the unpasturized, plain yogurt.

If you have repeated problems with yeast, you may want to talk to your doctor about your diet. If you find that you crave breads, sweets, wine, beer and alcoholic beverages, you might be eating too much yeast and sugar and fermented foods.

If you believe you have candida yeast problems, ask your doctor about ingesting coconut oil and the fatty acids it contains such as caprylic acid, that some doctors use to fight candida yeast.

Coconut oil is good for you and it is available at any healh food store. You simply use it to cook food with, instead of other vegetable oils.

Some doctors say that eating coconut oil is a little known home remedies yeast infection.

Every woman gets a yeast infection once in a while and it is not any reflection upon personal hygiene. It is actually due to many factors. Today many women wear synthetic undergarments and then sit all day. They are under a lot of stress. The foods they eat are high in yeast, carbs and sugars. They need to wear cotton undergarments, give up some yeast filled foods, drink more water and eat more yogurt.
