Actually I believe the hormone patch is supposed to help relieve that, not cause it. Vaginal dryness is one of the many common menopause symptoms a woman can have. The doctors call this "vaginal atrophy" and/or sometimes "atrophic vaginitis" and it is where the tissue around that area of the body can become dry and uncomfortable. It is caused when the body's estrogen levels become lower than they once were. Some women will go on the estrogen patch as therapy to try to raise their levels and hopefully improve that dryness situation. Other women apply a topical hormone cream, such as Estriol cream, directly to the skin around the problem area. Tell your doctor about this symptom. They may want you to try a hormone cream.
