How soon after conception for positive pregnancy test?

by Samantha

Okay i think I might be pregnant and I'm having signs of pregnancy. Everything I've read says I could conceive on the 17th of Oct. We were together then so when can I expect to see my first positive pregnancy test result?

About 2 weeks after conception
by: Cassie

Every woman has a different body and so it varies with the person. In general terms, it is usually about 2 weeks after conception that you will see a positive result on a store-bought home pregnancy test. So if it was the 17th you conceived, you still probably have a week or so to wait.

However a blood test at a doctor's office or medical clinic shows results sooner, more like 7 to 10 days. The store-bought tests are not as accurate as the doctor's blood test.
