Lower abdominal pain during pregnancy

My lower stomach feels like I have a pulled muscle. I've already found out that I am pregnant. But I'm having lower abdominal pain, the area feels heavy but at the same time feels like I have a pulled muscle. Other times I feel very gassy. Is this a normal symptom with a second pregnancy?

Most women normally experience bouts of lower abdominal pain occasionally during pregnancy. The condition is generally very normal and harmless.

However sharp or constant abdominal pain during pregnancy could also possibly suggest a medical problem. So talk to your doctor if it seems to never end or gets worse.

Lower abdominal pain is most common during the early weeks or stage of pregnancy.

Sometimes the pain is caused by the uterus preparing to carry the baby through the coming nine months.

Lower abdominal pain can also be caused by simple factors such as round ligament pain, preeclampsia, or placental absorption.

It can feel like having a pulled muscle, due to the uterus growing and stretching. Other times, there could be a feeling of gassiness or constipation.

Sometimes the pain can be relieved by changing positions while when sitting or lying down.
