Missed birth control pill bleeding

I was on birth control but then didn't take it for almost a week. I am experiencing light pinkish bleeding, nausea, heartburn, minor headaches, lower backaches, consistently tired and major bloating. I was wondering if there is a good chance of me being pregnant. I had a period about 2 weeks ago and now all this. What should I do? Can a few missed birth control pills cause bleeding?

Normal!

Yes birth control (bc) does make you body react that way. Once you start taking bc you are regulating your body with the hormones, once off of bc hormones your body has to start to regulate itself normally again.

Very Normal

Missing your pills can certainly cause your body to feel like that! When you are taking the BC pill, you are feeding your body with hormones that actually "trick" your body into thinking it is pregnant. (Which is why you don't get pregnant) The last week of your pill pack is sugar pills, which is why you then get your period - because you are no longer giving your body those hormones.

However, if you just stop taking the pills, or miss too many, your body starts going through the process of getting your period again, because it is no longer receiving the hormones.

Hope this helps!
