Ovarian cyst and pregnancy test

Can you get pregnant if you have a 2.9 centimeter ovarian cyst that is leaking and you had unprotected sex the day before you found out you had it? I'm having signs of pregnancy such as frequent urination and mood swings but no vomiting or nausea. My mom told me she thanks I'm pregnant and doesn't want me to start the birth control pills that my gynecologist prescribed to get rid of the cyst I'm really worried I don't want to hurt a possible baby but the cyst also hurts and she said the BC pills would stop the pain and regulate my hormones. Can anyone help ease my stress?
