I have two positive pregnancy tests, now what? Should you take another pregnancy test if you have already tried two and both came out to be positive?

Call your gynecologist

The next step is to grab the phone and make an appointment with your gynecologist ASAP. Your OBGYN will tell you what to do from there, and she'll also schedule you for a few more visits during your pregnancy just to make sure everything is good. There is no point in taking another pregnancy test... you're probably pregnant alright!

Time to see a doctor

No need to do anymore at home tests, but you do need to make an appointment with your OBGYN & he or she may want to do a serum (blood) pregnancy test - which is the most accurate. Good luck!

You should go for a blood test to be sure now and that will have the final answer!

Two Positive Pregnancy Tests: Now What?
by: Revie Sevilla

If you have both positive results in two different home pregnancy tests performed on two different days, you are most probably pregnant.

Such tests have up to 98% accuracy when done correctly. Taking two of them on two different days increases the odds of accuracy.

You could verify or confirm the results by taking the option to undergo a blood test at your doctor's office or a clinic.

The blood test is still the most accurate test to determine pregnancy.

If your home pregnancy tests yield both positive results and your blood test indicate otherwise, it makes sense to now go to your doctor and get a blood test as the final and most accurate finding.

A blood test administered by a doctor is always the most accurate in determining whether a woman is pregnant or not.

Human chorionic gonadotropin or hCG is the hormone behind pregnancy. Pregnancy tests are basically designed to detect hCG. The hormone could be detected in the urine and in the blood. Thus, both home pregnancy test and blood test produce results based on detected presence of hCG.

The earliest you could obtain a positive result in home pregnancy tests is about seven days following ovulation. hCG is produced only after implantation of the embryo. That usually happens about six days to 12 days after ovulation.

If your home pregnancy test is done 10 days to 12 days after ovulation and it indicated a positive result, there is a greater possibility that you are indeed pregnant.
