Pregnancy at 12 Weeks



When your pregnancy is 12 weeks along, your little one is approximately 2.4 inches big and might gain weight of approximately ˝ ounce. When you think about it, that’s a quite an accomplishment for you.

Most of the mothers begin to notice changes on their skin during this week. For instance, you may notice that you start developing more freckles.

Most women will develop a dark line through their stomach which is also called linea nigra. It will normally start to show after 12 weeks.

During the 12th week of your pregnancy, you will start to experience additional heartburn. This is very normal during your pregnancy stages as the uterus is expanding and is constantly pressing up besides the stomach.

Your hormones start to change during this week of pregnancy too, and your doctor may suggest that you eat soda crackers and will also recommend that you not eat spicy foods or large meals.

You may also want to try sleeping with your head somewhat elevated as that might lessen the acid of the stomach coming up to your throat at night.

One of the finest ways to lower heartburn is to eat small but frequent meals.

You also want to avoid eating right before bed time because this will worsen your heartburn and prevent you from having a good night's sleep.

As your belly begins to grow you may think to forgo your seatbelt. This is a wrong practice since wearing a seatbelt is very important especially during pregnancy.

It will help you to avoid serious damages in many instances and will protect your little one.

While pregnant, it is best to become more protective of yourself.

Eating healthy foods, wearing a seatbelt, taking prenatal vitamin supplements and pure fish oil capsules, eating fruits rich in folic acid are just some ways to ensure that your baby will be born healthy and fully developed.
