Pregnancy Pain in Lower Abdomen

Well I have been having pain in my lower abdomen like a pinching feeling, or as if I pulled a muscle in my stomach. It hurts when I stand up. This started happening since I found out I was pregnant. Is this a normal symptom?

What to do?

I have been feeling pain in my lower abdomen whereas I am not able to move or if I do walk it hurts. Then I started spotting blood so I got scared because I'm wondering what happened to me.

I was having some more early signs of pregnancy symptoms so I took a home pregnancy test and it came out positive! But as you know that may just be the hormones. So now I will take another one to see if I have the same result. Wish me luck!

About 7 years ago I found out that I had 2 stds that were both treated and cured. And I was told I would not be able to have any kids. So now with me maybe being pregnant is it possible they were wrong and I really can have kids?

I too have been having cramps like I should be starting my period, and I should have a week ago. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for almost 6 years now, and only last month we started taking the first round of fertility drugs to see if it will help. I will be testing in the morning to see if I get any good news. Wish me luck!!!!!!

Ok my lower stomach hurts very bad I was supposed to start my period on the 3rd and it's only the 5th but I'm cramping and have discharge. My breasts are very tender and when me and my fiancé made love I spotted a little. I went to the bathroom but nothing was unusual and I still didn't start. It feels like the cramps before my period but my legs are aching and I have been having sharp pains in my lower stomach. IDK what's wrong I think I could be pregnant, those seem like the symptoms.

I don't know if I'm pregnant or not, but I keep having dull pains in my lower abdomen area kinda like it feels before my period. But it's not that time yet. Can this be an early sign of pregnancy or do you think it is something else I need to get checked into by my doctor?

Pinching

It could be your sciatic nerve getting pinched slightly from the weight of the baby and body changes taking place.

Some women get this condition which is called sciatica. I suggest you check with your doctor, if this is what it is then you may be more comfortable wearing a pregnancy support which will help your body carry the weight of the baby.

I had one and it was just like a thick belt type thing I wore for back support under my clothes. Check with your doctor though.

Pain In The Lower Abdomen

When you are newly pregnant, any unexplained symptoms can be cause for alarm. One of the most frightening is pain in the lower abdomen.

This is because it can be a sign that something serious is happening that can threaten your health and the health of the baby inside you.

It can also be a natural side effect of early pregnancy. Here are a few different causes for pregnancy pain in the lower abdomen.

One of the most common causes for stabbing pain in the lower abdomen during pregnancy is the growth of the baby itself.

As the baby grows, the uterus must stretch and grow to accommodate it. In a first pregnancy, this often results in pain and cramping.

It is not serious, but other causes of pain can be so you need to visit a doctor if you begin to feel sharp stabbing pains and discomfort.

Here are a few more serious problems that can cause abdominal pain.

In early pregnancy, pain in the lower abdomen can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. This is a pregnancy where the baby has begun to grow outside of the uterus.

A fetus may not implant in the uterus before it begins to grow and may instead attach itself to the inside of a fallopian tube.

As it grows, it can cause extreme pain. It is a life threatening condition that needs immediate medical attention.

In very early stages of pregnancy, abdominal pain may also be a sign that you are having a miscarriage. Later, it can be a sign that preterm labor has begun.

If you have any pain or discomfort that is persistent and does not go away, or which is accompanied by bleeding or excessive vaginal discharge, you need to get checked out by a doctor to find out what the cause may be.
