Many women do not have their period for a while if they are nursing. While you might have a lower than usual chance of getting pregnant, you still can and many women do experience pregnancy while nursing - breastfeeding. It is normal not to have a period while breastfeeding. You will want to use a condom for protection unless you are willing to take the risk of getting pregnant again so soon.
