South Beach Diet Recipes book review

Here is a review of the South Beach Diet Recipes book.

The best selling SouthBeach Diet book was written by Arthur Agatston, M.D., a cardiologist who has served on committees of the American Society of Echocardiology, the American College of Cardiology, and the Society of Artherosclerosis Imaging, where he is a member of the founding board of directors.

The book publisher notes that for years, cardiologist Arthur Agatston, M.D. tried to get his patients to lose weight in order to keep their hearts healthy, but low fat diets were hard for them to follow.

So Dr. Agatston developed some South Beach Diet recipes. The SouthBeach Diet Recipes book lists recipes with normal size helpings of meat, poultry, and fish. Foods also eggs, cheese, nuts, and vegetables. Snacks are part of every menu.

The South Beach Diet Recipes avoid the "bad" carbs, like white flour, white sugar, and baked potatoes. What makes the recipe book so popular is the claim that "Best of all, as you lose weight, you'll loose that stubborn belly fat first!"

Dr. Agatston's SouthBeach Diet Recipes book has produced dramatic weight loss of 8 to 13 pounds lost in the first 2 weeks and has become the best selling diet book right now.

Newsweek wrote: "...the real value of the book is its sound nutritional advice. It retains the best part of the Atkins regime - meat - while losing the tenet that all carbs should be avoided. Instead, Agatston encourages a well-balanced diet that includes plenty of fruit, vegetables and whole grains, plus nuts and healthy oils..."

Publisher's Weekly noted, "The South Beach diet begins with a somewhat restrictive two-week program, generally producing a weight loss of from eight to 13 pounds. Complete meal plans along with simple recipes comprise roughly half the book. Of course, there's no perfect diet that works for everyone but the enthusiasm of the conversational tone and the inviting manner make the book more appealing than many other diet tomes."

Women's World wrote: "The SouthBeach Diet requires no calorie cutting or counting."

USA Today said, "Unlike the Atkins diet, Agatston's plan steers dieters away from saturated fat found in butter and fatty meats like hamburger and bacon and encourages the consumption of monounsaturated fats like olive oil and omega-3 fatty acids found in fish."

Obviously, these South Beach Diet Recipes are working well for some people.
