It happens quite often - but tell your doctor anyway by: Anonymous
Yes it is pretty common for some women to have a little bit of brown spotting during the sixth week of pregnancy. If it is just a little bit and it is brown that is probably fine. But if it is a lot and it is bright red that is not good at all.
It is always best to talk to your doctor about any bleeding whatsoever, just to be on the safe side.
Lots of moms say if you see spotting you want to stay off your feet and get plenty of rest in bed. That might be an old wives tale, however it is always a good idea to get lots of rest during pregnancy. Take it really easy.
Sometimes there may also be a feeling of some cramps, so it reminds you of your period in that way. You can also get constipated at this time and that may give you a cramp feeling. A bran muffin might be helpful for that.
