Strength Toning Women
Are you one of the new "strength toning women?"
In the old days, women just dieted and starved themselves to get a slim figure. Men went to the gym. Men worked on strength and toning. Men turned fat into lean, toned muscle. Women didn't exercise as much because they were worried about looking muscle-bound and masculine. Muscle wasn't thought to be feminine. Not any more. Modern women have discovered that although muscle weighs more than fat, muscle is tighter and more toned. Instead of looking at the scale, more and more women are simply looking in the mirror. If your body looks good, don't worry about who else may weigh more or less than you. Everyone has different height, bones, muscles, you name it. Don't be intimidated by the weight scale. A flat stomach is all toned muscle. A firm butt is due to muscle tone. Nice legs? Thank muscle tone. Want to avoid flabby arms? Strengthen and tone those arm muscles. When you add muscle to your body it helps to burn fat. You can replace fat with muscle and you will look great and feel great. Strength toning women don't have bulging biceps or thunder thighs like some guys get. These fit women do strength toning exercises designed to firm and tighten and tone their body. Some exercises used by strength toning women include the following. There are many more but these will get you started. Calf toning This one looks easy but will make your calves burn. Stand on a starway facing up, like you are going upstairs. Hold the hand rail with one hand. Now move your feet back until just the toes and the balls of your feet are on the step. The back of your feet are in the air. Next, raise your self up onto your toes and then lower yourself back down. Repeat this as many times as you can. This strength toning women exercise will tone your calves like nothing else. You can do it anywhere and it costs nothing, no equipment to buy. The next day you may not be able to walk so good so ease into this exercise bit by bit. Arm and abdominal toning Want to have some fun? Get good at doing push-ups. Then, when you get any flack from a big-muscle bench press champion, challenge him to a competition. Many people who build giant muscles for show, can't do more than a dozen push-ups. Push-ups are not something a lot of women used to do. That was until Demi Moore did those one armed push-ups in the movie G.I. Jane. Now more women are doing push-ups. This is another exercise you can do anywhere and it doesn't require any equipment. Keep your legs and body straight as a board. Slowly lower your body down and back up. Start with as many or as few as you can do. Each couple of days try to add more repetitions. Eventually, over time, you will be able to do a lot of push-ups and your arms and tummy will get tight and toned. Plus, like we said, you can have fun asking innocently "How many push-ups can you do big guy?" Then you do twice as many.
