Swollen feet during pregnancy

by Desiree

Hi I would like to know if swollen feet might be a symptom of early pregnancy as well as my tiredness. My fiance and I had an accident where the condom broke. I haven't taken anything to prevent a pregnancy. That happened about 2 weeks ago and since last week my feet started getting swollen and I'm tired constantly. I eat more than usual and am feeling bloated but I don't have tender breasts nor do I urinate a lot. So I would like to know if its to early to say that I am pregnant and if swollen feet might be a symptom.

Kindly let me know if this might be a symptom?

Kind regards

Desiree

It is usually a "late" symptom

Some women do experience swollen feet during pregnancy so it would be considered a symptom, however it would usually happen in the third trimester so it is not thought to be one of the more common early symptoms. It could be, sometimes, it depends on each individual.

This swelling is known as "edema" and it happens because a pregnant woman retains more water. There are many other reasons you might be tired and your feet might be swollen. Hopefully it may help to get some rest and soak your feet in a pan of hot water with epsom salts, then lay down and prop your feet up on a pillow so they are elevated. Try a pregnancy test to get an answer about your symptoms and if they persist be sure to talk to your doctor.
