Tips on Getting Pregnant

Do any moms have some tips on getting pregnant? This will be my first baby and I'm so excited to start my family.

My husband and I are trying to conceive right now and I am using an ovulation calendar and a first response ovulation test so I know what days are best for TTC.

My doctor told me to start taking my pre-natal vitamins right now and not wait until I'm pregnant. That makes good sense and the vitamins make me feel great too.

Does anyone have more of these kinds of good tips on getting pregnant that they want to share?

Thank you!

She's Gotta Have It

I wanted to get pregnant. I started taking birth control pills for like three months then abruptly quit. Soon after that, I was pregnant. I had a very healthy 8lb 2.3oz baby boy. He is now 19 and when grown up he was exceptionally healthy...as far as colds, runny noses, allergies, even injuries. Maybe there was something to the contraceptive approach...

I wasn't able to get pregnant for almost an entire year. Then after giving up, I got put on birth control for heavy periods. I ran out of my Nuva rings and got pregnant the following week. I never thought a preventative measure would have helped. Maybe it helped to regulate my ovulation?

I have just become pregnant and am now 5 weeks pregnant.

I have some good tips which I followed.

Do you have a stressful job with lots of late hours and overtime? I have found that several of my friends who have had stressful jobs have not fallen pregnant until they actually cut down seriously on their workload. A friend of mine tried to conceive for 3 years and then swapped jobs and got pregnant immediately. It seems as if the body says "no" to pregnancy when the body is in a constant rush.

Make sure you don't smoke, drink or live an unhealthy life basically. I'm 35 and was always worried that it would take me ages to get pregnant as I was not 30 or younger.

I think I got pregnant on the first try since I eat lots of vegetables and fruit, eat no deep fried foods, drink no coffee or alcohol and I don't smoke.

I know it might sound like a 'boring" lifestyle to some, but for me it has always been the way to go. I wish you all the best with falling pregnant!

I'm also trying to conceive, so here are the tips I've learned online so far.

Lube can prevent pregnancy... it makes it hard for sperm to swim!

Have sex every two days for best results (not everyday, cause then the sperm is not potent.)

Make sure your man stays out of hot tubs, and doesn't' wear really tight underwear.

Good luck!
