Trouble Conceiving

I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years now and I have not even had a pregnancy scare.

The both of us have been tested and we are both capable of having children, but nothing has happened yet.

I was wondering what I could do to maybe help me in trying to conceive.

What have other people done when they had trouble conceiving?

Thank you.

Don't give up
by: Anju

I am 36 years old with a 17 yr old child. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for 7 years and we finally gave birth to our son 3.5 months ago after all the praying, crying and blaming that we have been through. All I can tell you is to relax, pray and wait for time, it will happen. We are proof in the puddin. Good Luck :)

Don't give up!

My husband and I tried for 6 months before anything happened. (I know that that is not nearly as long as 2 years).

I think it was mostly the fact that we were both stressed and worked a lot. Also, he worked nights a lot so we didn't have sex as often as I would have liked.

I think the best thing you could possibly do is, be aware of when you will be ovulating and have LOTS of fun sex that entire week! Relax and enjoy yourself. Don't use any lubricants that could harm his sperm either.

And start taking prenatal vitamins. If you are really skinny you may want to consider gaining a few pounds too.

Those are just a few tips that worked for me! :) I wish you the best of luck.

Try every day?

I am trying too. A friend of mine told me that the only way to make it work is to have sex everyday. It seems kind of elementary but she swears by it.

When she got pregnant, she did this method and was pregnant within 2 months - for all 3 children. It seems exhausting, but give it a try.

Having Trouble Conceiving
by: Portia

If you are having trouble conceiving, you may find this time in your life stressful. It can be difficult to go for months without becoming pregnant when all you want is to start a family.

One of the first things that you need to remember is that you are not alone. Roughly one quarter of couples will find it difficult to get pregnant naturally and this can be caused by a number of different reasons.

You need to realize that there are only a few days each month when you are actually able to conceive. If you are not having intercourse during those few days, you will not be able to conceive.

While a man?s sperm can live up to four or five days inside the woman?s body, an egg can only generally survive for twelve to twenty-four hours. This means that you have a very short period of time right around ovulation when you can become pregnant.

It can be worthwhile to do two things in order to increase your chances of getting pregnant.

The first is to visit your doctor. They can perform tests to check if your hormone levels and those of your partner are okay and whether there are any physical reasons why you are not getting pregnant.

The second thing that you need to do is keep track of your periods and when you ovulate, which is generally around day fourteen. This can help you pinpoint when the best time is to become intimate, which, in turn can increase your chances of conceiving.
