Look up "premature ovarian failure," or look up premature menopause. Go to your doctor to get blood work done to know for sure
No, the 20's are way too young for menopause by: Anonymous
There is a usual age range for menopause: between 48 years and 55 years. In the United States, the average menopausal age is 51 years. However, there are cases when menopause comes at a much earlier age, but not in the 20's. Some women could experience the early signs of the condition in their late 40s. The youngest age for menopause that I've ever heard of is early 30s. But don't worry, even that is really unusual and I've never heard of anyone having menopause in their 20's. Talk to your doctor and I'm sure you will be relieved with the good news.
Menopause by: Anonymous
I am the first case in medical recorded history - so I have been told. Menopause STARTED for me at age 14. Through many tests and prodding, a Laparotomy revealed at age 20 that my ovaries had died. Some theories are: my birth mother took D.E.S. - a drug given to women during the 50's to help with morning sickness and has affected the reproductive systems in some females.
Another theory: I was immunized against T.B. in grade 7 and it attacked my ovaries.
Another theory: I was a competitive swimmer and the strain of training affected my reproductive organs.
They really do not know but I no longer put myself through any more tests. I am 54, happily married and have 2 beautiful grown up children.
I would be happy to asnwer any questions you may have.
